Big Block Party
Barmuda,
Beer and Bands on September 9
The
Delaineys, 6 Mile Groove and The Scott Laurent Band join
headliner gb Leighton for the third annual Barmuda Triangle
Block Party on the 500 block of Mankatos South Front Street
Saturday, September 9, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Just five bucks gets you six hours of great rock.
We
wanted to do something together, reflects T.J. Finnegans
Chris Rysdon, referring to how his bar, along with The South
Front Street Saloon and Plutos Pub (dubbed the Barmuda
Triangle) joined forces three years ago to put on the first
block party. Deb
Wersal, radio salesperson and local music promoter adds, Each
year it gets bigger!
Started
as a way to welcome back returning college students with live
music and Miller Beer, the Barmuda Triangle Block Party also
attracts the bars regulars plus visitors from the region.
The event closes off the one block of South Front where
T.J.s, Pintos and South Street are located.
With the event starting at 4 p.m. and ending by 10 p.m.,
Chris says other downtown bars and businesses also benefit from
the crowd. In fact,
A-1 Bike is planning a Rock Around the Block sale to
coincide with the street party.
The
Third Annual Barmuda Triangle Block Party is open to ages 21 and
up.
